Young People

What is FDY?

FDY stands for Foundry Youth and is made up of young people between the ages of 11-18. Our schedule changes during the school holidays, so keep in touch on social media and stay up to date by checking out Facebook and Instagram.

FDY exists to help young people follow Jesus, to know him, to grow in relationship with him and to go with him.

When is FDY?

Fridays are all about hanging out together, having fun and encouraging each other in our faith and walk with God. Each week we deliver more than just a programme so why not make your Friday nights a chance to meet a real God, where the real Jesus is central and a whole lot of fun takes place! We meet 7-9:30pm.

In all of our youth provision safety is our priority. We make sure each room that is used is safe in its layout and equipment. All of our volunteers are screened with an application process and a DBS is carried out, as well as ongoing child protection training.

Save yourself some time when you first visit by filling out the general information and parent/guardian consent forms before you arrive. Please complete the general information form for each child that will be attending. Only one parent/guardian consent form is needed per household.

SYC is all about life changing encounters with Jesus.

Here is how we seek to fulfil this vision:

Our message is counter cultural, we create memories through community, we develop leaders and we are part of the bigger picture!

Summer Youth Camp takes place at Myerscough College, Bilsborrow, Lancashire and has been running since 2010 and we are now into our eighth year. SYC brings together young people and leaders from all over the UK gathering for a week of worship, incredible teaching, sports programmes and much more - all of which combines for a life changing week for so many!

SYC is for young people aged between 11 and 18, with seminars aimed at growing them in their relationships with God. Youth leaders are also catered for with a morning programme with teaching based on issues relating to youth work and leadership.

Myerscough College is built on the site of the old Myerscough Hall in the beautiful Lancashire countryside. It offers exceptional full-board accommodation for more than 650 delegates, in 28 different Halls of Residence. There is a good mix of single and twin rooms with shared common room, kitchen and bathroom facilities. Myerscough’s sports facilities include football and rugby pitches, a new 3G pitch and a four-court indoor sports hall with facilities for basketball, netball, five-a-side football, dodgeball and tennis.

SYC provides a great opportunity for young people and leaders to spend time together in a safe and fun environment, all on one site. SYC is run from the headquarters at The Foundry Church in Widnes, an affiliated AOG church.
