It's the most wonderful time of the year...
It is fast approaching 'the most wonderful time of the year' and we have got a jam packed Christmas programme, with something for everyone. Here's all you need to know about Christmas 2017, here at The Foundry.
We just couldn't wait to begin our Advent series, so we will be starting it on Sunday 26th November.
The Advent Series this year is called 'Do they know it's Christmas?'. We will be looking at the real meaning behind Christmas, why we celebrate it and how we can share about it with our loved ones.
Stuff The Sleigh
This year, our Christmas appeal is called Stuff the Sleigh where we will be filling an empty sleigh with chocolate, biscuits and sweets up to the value of £5.00. Then on Saturday 16th December we will have a team outside The Foundry Shop in Widnes town centre giving these gifts away to passers by along with an invite to the carol service. The Sleigh will be empty and ready for you to fill from next Sunday. We are believing it will be a great opportunity to bless people in our town.
We've got a brilliant opportunity to spread the great news of Christmas by Carol Singing in Widnes Tesco on Sunday 10th December from 1-2pm. There will be a rehearsal on Sunday 3rd December straight after the service. If you would like to be part of the carol singing, we ask that you click here to sign up.
Service of Hope
New to the Christmas programme this year, is the Service of Hope. It is a short service which will take place in the Village Suite on Sunday 10th December at 5pm. The service is for anyone who has lost a loved one and might be finding the Christmas season difficult. Perhaps you know a colleague, friend or family member who would find this reflective service with refreshments helpful?
Our annual carol service is a real highlight of the year, and it is definitely one to invite friends and family to. There is something for everyone on the night from Santa's Grotto for 10's and unders, Snowboard Simulator for 11's+ (no upper age limit!), Festive Refreshments and a Snow Globe Photobooth. The Carol Service itself begins at 5pm and will involve carols, a short Christmas message and a twist on the children's nativity. The event starts at 4pm, with the service beginning at 5pm. The service will last just 1 hour and you can then carry on the fun in the grotto, photobooth or enjoying a mince pie after the service. It is completely free and we would love for you to invite your friends and family!
Our traditional Christingle service takes place on Christmas Eve at 5pm for just an hour. It is a great service for all ages and will include a children's story, singing Christmas carols and a teddy bear giveaway for the children. We would love for you to spend part of your Christmas Eve with us!
We are really looking forward to celebrating the Christmas season with you. Please feel free to pass on the the details of our Christmas events to your loved ones, or pick up some fliers from the Information Desk on Sunday.
